What it is

Real-time combat with pause. You command a ship and its crew across a procedurally generated galaxy, one run at a time.

Ship combat

Route power between systems. Aim each weapon at a specific room on the enemy ship. Pause whenever you need to.

Crew

Fires, hull breaches, boarders. Your crew fights, repairs, and dies if you get it wrong.

Outside the hull

Crew can spacewalk. Send them across to board an enemy ship, or mount gun pods on your own hull and hold the line from outside.

Runs

Crew earn classes and permanent upgrades over a run. Every galaxy is generated fresh. Lose the ship and the run is over.

The Ember

Something came through a rift. Humanity calls them the Ember, for what they leave behind. It isn't fire. It's what happens when something that shouldn't be here touches matter that can't hold it.

They feed on stars, and they feed until they're full. A star they've fed on turns purple and stays that way.

You fly for the Terran Directorate, crossing the galaxy to raise a coalition against them. Almost nobody wants to help. Some blame humanity for opening the rift. Some think helping is what gets you noticed next. The older races have seen the Ember before. They took a few systems and left. Nobody can promise they'll stop at a few this time.
